Darédo

  • Darédo is a well-known artist among art brut and outsider enthusiasts. Her ballpoint pen drawings, enhanced with ink and pencil, give shape to hallucinatory anthropomorphic apparitions and spectres that blossom on paper. Recently she started creating dolls made of wool and recycled material.

Darédo, who now lives in the south of France, has been drawing and painting self-taught for some twenty years. Her works are imbued with mysticism, intimately blending her fears, emotions and hopes. The invisible, the unspeakable, death, the afterlife and man's place in the universe are her recurring themes, an intimate and spiritual transposition of reality.

  • Born in Montpellier in 1961, she lives and works in Lodève, France.
